Determination of Stroke Severity and Outcome Prediction

  • The goal of this study is to develop a screening system which can provide a fast and accurate diagnosis of acute neurological disorders such as ischemic stroke, intracerebral hemorrhage, and traumatic brain injury.

Who can participate?

This study is designed for adults who...

  • Are being evaluated for an ischemic or hemorrhagic stroke
  • It may not be safe to participate if you have...

    symptomatic of historical brain disorder
    a history of prior facial nerve disease, injury, or surgery
    a history of tumor, trauma or surgery involving the facial tissues or muscles

When do I start?

Participation starts on the second day of your hospital stay.

How long will I be followed?

  • Critical Care
  • Stroke Center
  • Discharge

answer some questions and complete some physical task while being videotaped.

Participation is your choice and you can stop any time
Participation will not change your routine health care
If you experience certain changes to your health or must take other medications, you may be told you can no longer participate.
