  • The goal of this study is to understand if getting different views of the heart using advanced imaging techniques in patients is helpful in determining the cause of stroke

Who can participate?

This study is designed for adults who...

  • Have had an acute ischemic stroke
    Can safely have a cardiac CT Scan
    Speak English fluently
    Can wear a small heart monitor, called a ZioPatch, for 14 days
  • It may not be safe to participate if you...

    Are pregnant
    Are allergic to certain medications
    Have certain diagnoses that impact your heart, brain, or mental health

When do I start?

Participation starts within the first 5 days after stroke

How long will I be followed?

  • Critical Care
  • Stroke Center
  • Discharge

Key activities

You will be asked to...

Have a cardiac CT while in the hospital
Wear a small heart monitor for 14 days after you are discharged

Participation will not change your routine health care
If you experience certain changes to your health or must take other medications, you may be told you can no longer participate.
