  • The goal of this study is to learn how the brain learns movement and identify predictors of motor recovery after a stroke

Who can participate?

This study is designed for adults who...

  • Experience a stroke and have difficulty with movement
  • It may not be safe to participate if you...

    Have specific pain, such as orthopedic pain
    Have a pacemaker, cochlear implant, or other electronic implanted device
    Are pregnant

When do I start?

Participation starts within 3 to 7 days after stroke

How long will I be followed?

  • Critical Care
  • Stroke Center
  • Discharge

Key activities

You will be asked to...

Perform motor activities
Undergo non-invasive brain or nerve stimulation
Participate in evaluations of strength, sensation, motor function, or cognition
Follow-up after discharge

Participation is your choice and you can stop any time
Participation will not change your routine health care
If you experience certain changes to your health or must take other medications, you may be told you can no longer participate.
