    • The goal of this study is to determine the safety and feasibility of an hour of training using gaming right after stroke.

Who can participate?

This study is designed for adults who...

  • Had a stroke in the last 8 weeks
    Have new arm weakness

  • It may not be safe to participate if you...

    Have certain conditions affecting your heart, bones, muscles, or nerves
    Have difficulty sitting up for more than 3 minutes
    Have difficulty following commands
    Have difficulty seeing a video screen

When do I start?

Participation starts after the third day of your hospital stay

How long will I be followed?
  • Critical Care
  • Stroke Center
  • Discharge

Key activities

You will be asked to...

Participate in daily arm training sessions (up to 5 days/week) during your hospital stay.

Participation is your choice and you can stop any time
Participation will not change your routine health care
If you experience certain changes to your health or must take other medications, you may be told you can no longer participate.
